Targeted at senior high/secondary students (Years 9-12), the goal of the HU2BI program is to influence the attitudes and behaviour of young people to reduce their chances of sustaining a brain injury. The program has been developed in consultation with the Principal Education Officer Health and Wellbeing and is compliant with Standard 5 of the Health and Wellbeing curriculum.
Specifically the program aims to make young people more aware of:
- the prevalence and causes of brain injury;
- the long-term impact of brain injury on their lives and the lives of their families and friends;
- ways in which the risk of incurring a brain injury can be minimised; and
- commonly held misconceptions associateed with ABI in today's society.
